Privacy Policy for idublive

Effective date: August 27, 2026

1. Overview

idublive is a bring-your-own-key (BYOK) Chrome extension for near-real-time dubbing of audio from the active Chrome tab. This policy describes the data handled by the extension and the limited circumstances in which it is transmitted.

2. Active-tab audio

Only after you start a dubbing session and confirm the in-product disclosure, idublive captures audio from the active Chrome tab. That audio is sent directly from your browser to Google Gemini to provide the live-dubbing feature you requested. idublive does not operate a developer server, does not receive the audio, and does not retain an audio archive, transcript, or recording.

3. Gemini API keys

You provide your own Gemini API key and may optionally provide a fallback key. The extension stores those keys in Chrome extension storage on your device and sends the active key directly to the Google Gemini endpoint only to authenticate the live-dubbing request. idublive does not receive, sell, or share your API keys with the developer or any advertising service.

4. Local settings and local statistics

idublive stores selected language, theme, original-audio settings, consent status, and local usage statistics in Chrome extension storage on your device. Local statistics may include session duration, session timestamps, selected output language, and the domain of a dubbed tab (for example, youtube.com); they do not include a full page URL. These statistics are displayed only in the extension and are not transmitted to idublive or a developer backend.

5. Data idublive does not collect

idublive does not collect or store full browsing history, full page URLs, microphone audio, precise location, payment information, Google-account passwords, tab-audio recordings, transcripts, or subtitles. It does not use tab audio, API keys, or local statistics for advertising, profiling, creditworthiness, lending, or a shared training dataset.

6. Third-party processing

Google Gemini processes active-tab audio when you use the live-dubbing feature. That processing is governed by the terms and privacy practices applicable to your Gemini API account. Google Gemini is the only third party to which idublive transmits tab audio or the API key needed for the requested service.

7. Retention and your controls

Live-tab audio is processed only for the active session and is not retained by idublive. Local settings and statistics remain on your device until you remove the stored API keys, clear extension data, or uninstall idublive. You can stop dubbing at any time from the extension.

8. Chrome Web Store Limited Use

idublive uses and transfers user data only to provide the user-facing live-dubbing feature. User data is not sold, is not used or transferred for unrelated purposes, is not used for personalized advertising, and is not made available for human review except where required by applicable law or with your explicit consent.

9. Changes and contact

If this policy or the extension's data practices change, idublive will update this policy and provide an in-product disclosure where required. For privacy questions or to report a concern, use the idublive support form.
